Bundaberg

Our journey started in Bundaberg, we set up camp at the CMCA Park for self contained travellers. The cost was $5 per night this park had potable water & a dump site. It was close to town and very clean. While in Bundaberg we visited Hummock Lookout this was spectacular, views overlooking Bundy & the oceans. From here we visited Burnette Heads, Bagara Beach Mon Repos Turtle Centre & the famous Bundy Rum Factory.

Bagara was very disappointing it has gone from a quaint coastal village to a tourism resort so many high rises and large houses built which have blocked the views from the Ocean. Burnette Heads was lovely. Open areas and the ocean right at the doorstep. We loved the energy here it was uplifting & calming.

Mon Repos Turtle Centre is well worth the visit. Very informative best part is you can walk down to the beach where the turtles lay their eggs.

All in all we found Bundaberg to be a busy little town but it is now become a tourist destination. Glad we did this trip but we won't be going back in a hurry.
